Last December, The Stop reached a significant milestone: our 40th anniversary. For over four decades, we have been dedicated to increasing access to healthy food in Toronto in a way that goes beyond just providing emergency services. We are proud to be an integral part of the community, offering support, fostering health and togetherness, and challenging inequality.
Since 1982, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. But our mission extends far beyond providing food. We believe in maintaining dignity, building health and community, and providing opportunities for personal growth and learning.
Food is the catalyst that brings people together, and through our organization, we have created a space where everyone is welcomed with a seat at the table.
To commemorate our 40th anniversary, we are thrilled to share a special video that showcases some of the incredible work we do. While the video cannot capture the full scope of our organization’s impact, it serves as a testament to the vibrant community we have built. It highlights not only the essential services and support we provide to those in need, but also the friendships formed, the social isolation reduced, and the wealth of knowledge shared.
