The Stop’s Farmer’s Market

Good food grows locally

601 Christie Street

Why we run a Farmers' Market

The Stop has been operating the Wychwood Barns Farmer’s Market since 2009 as an initiative to create space and support for farmers, vendors and artists who offer locally made, ecologically-conscious and ethical goods.

We believe that farmers’ markets play a critical role in food sovereignty where community members can use their dollars to directly support local farmers and vendors, shortening the gap between food consumers and producers while building connections with the people who grow, produce and prepare our food.

The Stop’s Wychwood Barns Farmers’ Market strives to create space for farmers, vendors and community members from diverse backgrounds and is engaged in an ongoing consultation to address barriers to participation in our space.

COVID Regulations

Please review our COVID rules before shopping at the market:

Please DO NOT shop at the market if you:

  • Are experiencing any COVID-related symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, loss of taste/smell)
  • Have travelled outside of Canada within the last 14 days
  • Have had contact with a probable or confirmed case of COVID-19
  • Are awaiting testing or test results for COVID-19

Please be patient. To keep our vendors safe, we can only allow 52 customers within the market at once. We will keep lines moving as quickly as possible.

Hold onto your drinks. Please don’t eat or drink within the market. The park space is available once you’ve left the market.

Mask up. Masks that cover the nose, mouth, AND chin are mandatory. Please bring your own, or take one of the disposable masks provided at the entrance.

Choose your crew. Please shop alone or as a pair to help us welcome as many customers as possible. The park space is available to you when you aren’t in the market.

Be speedy. Please try to keep your shopping to 20 minutes or less and don’t sit at the benches. Don’t forget that you can pre-order from many of our vendors to save time! Check out the links in our vendor roster below.

Sanitize. Please sanitize your hands at the market entrance. Our vendors sanitize regularly to keep everyone safe.

Keep your distance. Maintain a 2 metre distance between you, other shoppers, volunteers, and venders.

Service animals only. The dog park is open during market hours.

Hands to yourself. Our vendors will help you put your order together; there is no need to touch anything unless you’ve purchased it already.

We will be encouraging entry of one customer per household; please be time-efficient when coming in to shop; use the exit at the end of the one-way pedestrian traffic way so we can keep an accurate count of customers within the perimeter. We encourage ordering directly with the vendors online for curbside pick-up, located at the market exit.
