Put a Wrap on Hunger this Holiday Season
Food is at the heart of many holiday traditions, yet thousands of Torontonians struggle to put food on the table every day.
Across Canada, food bank usage has doubled over the last five years, and at The Stop the demand is overwhelming – in the past year, we’ve seen a 32% rise in individuals using our food bank, and a 40% surge in visits from households with three or more members. In addition, inflation has continued to drive up our costs and a food hamper that cost $60 in 2021 costs us $87 today. The need is urgent.
This season, we’ve set an ambitious goal to raise $100,000 to put a wrap on hunger in our community. Your donations will go toward groceries, food hampers, and culturally appropriate meals, ensuring families can enjoy the holidays with dignity and comfort.
Thanks to the kindness of an anonymous donor, every dollar donated through December 31st will be matched, up to $60,000. That means your gift will go twice as far, bringing nutritious food and essential hampers to families who need them most. Together, we can ensure no one in our community faces hunger during this season of giving.
Please consider giving the gift of good food this season. Your gift will help us deliver nutritious meals and essential food hampers to ensure no one in our community goes hungry.
Together, let’s put a wrap on hunger and spread the joy of good food this holiday season!
