One of the communities we work in, Davenport West, has a median after-tax income of just $27,338 per year. Every day, people in our community are making the impossible choice of paying rent and sheltering themselves through the winter, or purchasing food.
The communities we serve are most at risk of being impacted by the economic and health threats COVID-19 poses. Organizations like ours ensure that those in need are provided with critical access to emergency food. Can you help us with $10, $25, or even $50 right now to support our efforts?
While many food banks and services closed at the beginning of the pandemic, we remained open and kept up with increased demand of our services. Since April 2020, we have provided 50,000 meals to community members, and are projecting to serve 10,000 more than we do in a regular year.
“Our food service as we knew it paused on March 13, 2020, but The Stop’s commitment to providing nutritious meals to the most vulnerable people in our community did not. In fact, the staff members and volunteers on the front lines have continued to purchase the most nutritious ingredients, prepare meals with care and thought, and to package and serve each portion rain or shine. This has amounted to 50,000 meals served since April 2020! That’s roughly 5,000 meals per month. What a great testament to our indomitable team.” – Winsome Miller, Director of Programs and Operations.
The need is high, and we count on dedicated supporters like you to help us meet it. We could not have done it without your help, and we need you to stand with us again against food insecurity for the next 10,000 meals.
We’re aiming to raise $50,000 to provide the next 10,000 meals and more! Right now, your gift will be matched! The Arrell Family Foundation is proud to support The Stop as part of their mission to Improve Human and Planetary Health Through Food.
Will you help us provide the next 10,000 meals?
