Tours

Thank you for your interest in The Stop! Because we are very busy offering programs, both space and staffing constraints limit our ability to respond to all of the requests that we receive for tours. We have created a number of opportunities for people to learn more about us in a way that does not place too many pressures upon our programs or staff. Please carefully read the following for more information.

For individuals and small groups
We offer monthly tours of 1884 Davenport and The Green Barn that individuals and small groups are encouraged to sign up for. Scheduled 2012 tours of our 1884 Davenport location are upcoming on Monday February 27 and March 19 from 3:30 to 4:45 pm. Scheduled 2012 tours of the Green Barn are upcoming on Friday January 27, February 17 and March 23 from 3:00 to 4:30 pm. Please contact Elizabeth at 416-652-7867 ext 247 or via email at elizabeth [at] thestop [dot] org to reserve your place. These tours are free though we gladly accept donations.

For school groups
We work intensively with a number of schools in our neighborhood in our Sustainable Food Systems Education program in order to offer an in-depth program over the course of a full school year. What this means is that we only have the space and staffing for one tour per month for one-off visits from other school groups. Please fill out this form completely and return to us either by email, fax or mail. Your form must be received at least three weeks in advance of the specific tour date you are requesting. Please note that filling out this form does not ensure a tour reservation. There is no set fee, but if a $10 per child fee and/or a school or classroom-based fundraising initiative is possible, this is a welcome way to help us offset costs and support programs. Other large groups
From time to time we are able to host other requests from large private groups. For these tours, we request a donation of $10 per person, and have a capacity of 20 for our Davenport location, and 35 for our Green Barn. Please fill out this form completely and return to us either by email, fax or mail. Your form must be received at least three weeks in advance of the specific tour date you are requesting. Please note that filling out this form does not ensure a tour reservation. For private tours, we ask for a donation of $10 per person.
