Civic Engagement
Civic Engagement helps to directly address the root causes of poverty in your community. The Stop has a number of ways you can get involved:
- Bread and Bricks Davenport Social Justice Group: a working group of concerned citizens that plan and facilitate events and actions to address issues of poverty in our community and across Ontario
- Speakers' Bureau: a group of community members, including people on social assistance, parents, people with disabilities, low wage workers and community workers who are affected by poverty. Members use their experiences and stories to increase awareness and understanding about poverty and to advocate for improved public policies.
