Board of Directors

The Stop's Board of Directors

Among the many volunteers who support the work of The Stop are those who serve as members of the Board of Directors. The board has overall responsibility for the policy direction and financial health of the organization, and provides support and guidance to the Executive Director and staff by establishing policies in such areas as strategic planning, personnel and finance matters, and ensuring that The Stop's programs and services have adequate resources and are consistent with The Stop's mission and values.

Charles Lennox
President, Fundraising Committee & Governance/Risk Committee
Charles is managing director of Lennox Millar Executive Search and a senior executive recruiter with 20 years of business experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.  Charles is a member of Timothy Eaton Church's Community Outreach Committee and a business advisor for Humber College's Business School.

Rick Eagan
Vice President, Governance/Risk Committee
Rick has long been involved in social justice issues and is community development co-ordinator at St. Christopher's House.

Derek Sunderland-Clarke

Treasurer, Governance/Risk Committee

Derek has worked in aviation for almost ten years at Bombardier Aerospace in Toronto.  He is a Professional Engineer and Certified Management Accountant and was attracted to The Stop because of its significant contribution to the community through its food programs, as well as the highly enthusiastic and professional members of The Stop’s  board, staff and volunteer teams.

Alexis Archbold

Secretary, Human Resources Committee

Alexis is a lawyer and the Program Coordinator of the LAWS Program, a law-themed high school program for marginalized youth.  She brings her experience working and volunteering for a variety of non-profit organizations in Toronto and abroad to The Stop’s board of directors.  She also served on the board from 1998 to 2000.

Roseann Barry
Fundraising Committee
Roseann, a retired banker, brings general management skills to the board. She lives in High Park with her teenage son and is active at her church, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, where she first learned about The Stop's work.

Lalitha Flach

Fundraising Committee

Lalitha has worked in the City of Toronto's municipal government for the past 15 years. She currently manages four front-line service offices in Elections and Registry Services and has significant experience in the area of corporate sponsorship, having managed this portfolio in the special events office for more than nine years.

Darcelle Hall
Program Committee
Darcelle lives in Davenport West and works with McDonnell Doane + Associates, a consulting firm specializing in government and non-profit information technology projects. Most recently, she worked pm tje "211 project" with Community Information Toronto (dial 211 for information about community, social, health and government services or go to www.211toronto.ca).

Gillian Hewitt
Fundraising Committee
Gillian has proudly served the board for seven years in various capacities, including Vice-President. She works in crisis communications and public relations as a senior consultant at Aeroplan and lives just west of The Stop's catchment area.

Seana Irvine
Program Committee
Seana brings several years of experience in the non-profit sector and a background in environmental studies. She is national program director of Evergreen, a non-profit committed to bringing nature to our cities through naturalization projects.

Michelle Monteiro

Program Committee

Michelle works at Bain & Company Consulting and has been volunteering her consulting talents with The Stop through an in-depth analysis of the challenges facing The Stop's program participants. The experience Michelle brings from management counsulting is particularly valuable in assisting The Stop with stratetic planning and program development.

Rahul Raj

Fundraising Committee

Rahul is the founder of Meal Exchange, an organization that enables student solutions to Canada's hunger problem. At the time, he was a first-year business student at Wilfried Laurier University. Since then, he has facilitated more than $1.3 million in food donations. Rahul is currently engaged as a brand strategy consultant at In-Sync.

 

Caroline Zayid

Human Resources Committee

Caroline is a lawyer in downtown Toronto. She practises civil litigation with an emphasis on health law and education law. She has also worked in policy and issue management within the provincial government. Caroline has been active in community organizations: working for peace, social justice, and the ethical use of science.
